Seniors(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – When it comes to college, Manatee Technical College (MTC) is an option for LRHS seniors to seriously consider. It is much cheaper than a university, and it is also local.

According to MTC counselor Terri Parrish,  “MTC has over 50 career preparation programs, and they are willing to give scholarships to many students! Save your money in a successful way by attending MTC.”

LRHS senior Luke French stated, “I take one online career training class here, and I’ve learned so much about how to prepare for going into the career world after high school. I highly recommend students to go here if they want to master skills needed in many jobs.

MTC has three campuses in the School District of Manatee County and offers over 50 career preparation programs, continuing education, and adult general education.

Parrish stated, “MTC has a past of really teaching individuals how to work hard, and to help students prepare to become adults in the workforce.”

MTC has a lot of programs, such as Digital Design, Nursing, etc. Also, through a combination of both grants and scholarships, MTC is giving out four of their career certificates programs for free. That is something not offered at a university.

The Geene Has Foundation is willing to give out $10,000 in scholarships to students who are interesting in the Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Production Specialist and Machining Technologies programs.
