Savannah Else – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Thursday, Oct. 29 LRHS’s competitive esports teams both won their Rocket League matches.

The varsity “A” team (2-0) won 3-0 against Michigan’s Big Rapids High School.  The junior varsity “B” team (1-1) defeated Denbigh High School of Virginia.

Rocket League is a vehicular soccer video game developed and published by video game producer Psyonix.

LRHS math teacher and esports Coach Mark Marron said, “We are already doing extremely well. I am so proud of both our A and B teams and all the hard work they have put in.”

Mustangs who participated in this competition are required to play online at home.

Marron went on to state that the esports program is planning to branch out next spring by creating more teams and participating in more competitions.
