NEWS(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS choir will attend their Musical Performance Assessments (MPAs) Monday, Mar. 2 at Venice High School.

LRHS will have multiple choirs performing including – Mixed Choir, Mixed Womens Choir, Advanced Women’s Choir and Mens Singing Stampede. Each group is performing two songs that they have been practicing and working to perfect since the first week of school.

“It’s really amazing to be able to see and hear the final product of what everyone has been working hard on in class over the school year,” said sophomore choir student Erin Elizabeth Purcell.

“We’re hoping for straight superiors this year!” added sophomore Molly Cress, a member of both the Advanced Women’s Choir and Mixed Choir.  Superior is the highest rating an MPA judge can give.

The Mustangs are hoping for straight superiors from all three judges for all of their choir programs.

The purpose of MPA is to show how students have grown and improved musically, and also to give them a chance to receive constructive criticisms that will improve them as musicians.
