Sam Clapcich – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS varsity baseball lost the regional semi-finals Monday, ending their season.

The Mustangs took a crushing defeat, losing to Plant High School, 7-0, going against heavily recruited Plant pitcher Robert Satin.

Mustang junior Andy Schroder was able to spoil Satin’s perfect game, with a late single in the seventh inning.

Despite the loss, the Mustangs enjoyed a successful season, making it all the way to the regional semi-finals, finishing the season 19-8.

With most of the team returning next season, the team has high hopes and a lot to look forward to next year.

Sophomore Hayden Antonelli reflected on his successful season.

“It was a great season and had a lot of good things happen this year, such as winning districts. Our team is looking forward to next year,” he said.
