(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- EmpowHER is an LRHS faith-based organization for girls looking to learn more about Christianity.
Future President of EmpowHER, Grace Wortley said, “EmpowHER is a club for Christian girls to come together and grow in our faith. We have breakfast in the mornings and do all sorts of activities to create community.
“This year was our first year of having the club, so I started out as just someone that attended and enjoyed the club from a student perspective. We also have a guest speaker come in once a month to speak on topics that relate to God’s word and girls our age,” continued Wortley.

“I’m looking to just continue and grow the club even more next year, making it super inclusive to girls that go to our school, ” Wortley added.
Vice President Joyce Gad said, “We empower young women through the word of God through weekly bible study, activities, and worship.
“I hope to create a bigger connection for the girls and create a real sense of Christian fellowship at Lakewood. I also hope to get more girls to join and grow the club to where others feel welcome to join and comfortable in our environment,” Gad added.
