Sydney Oostendorp- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Tuesday the LRHS girls weightlifting team held their very first banquet to celebrate their successful season.
Head coach Elijah Weaver dedicated awards to team leaders. These awards were based on several categories created by Weaver.
These athletes were also given awards based on the improvement of the weight they lifted from the beginning to the end of the season.

Freshman Alexis Rissler was given athlete of the year award by the weightlifting team. In only her first year of weightlifting, she managed to make it to states and place the top of all of her meets, often while competing in a higher weight class.
Rissler said, “I couldn’t have had a better first year and next year will be even better and our team will achieve even more”.
Weaver said, “The team had a very successful season and I wanted to give the girls something to celebrate because they deserve it for all their hard work.”
