(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS seniors gathered in the auditorium Friday morning to receive information regarding senior spirit week, senior exam week, and graduation.
Senior class adviser and math teacher Ann Fleury organized a senior spirit week for May 1-5, for all seniors to participate in. The week will include dress up days, senior privileges, Class of 2023 shirts, and yearbook distribution.
The plan for the week is as follows-
May 1: “Dress like a Kindergartener Day”. Dress up like a child and receive ice cream at lunch.
May 2: “College Day”. Support and announce your future college by wearing college gear. Outside Mrs. Fleury’s room, 572, there will be a photobooth and college specific photo ops.
May 3: “Class Color Day”. Wear purple and support your class of 2023 color. The Senior Advisory Board will be distributing purple leis and crowns for the Seniors to decorate.
May 4: “LRHS Spirit Day”. Wear green, black, and silver or any LRHS gear. Class of 2023 shirts are available to be picked up in room 572 before or after school or during all lunches.
May 5: “Class of 2023 Shirt Day”. Wear your Class of 2023 shirt and donuts will be available outside room 572 in the morning.

Also on May 5, seniors must RSVP to the catered senior dinner, scheduled for May 11 in the LRHS cafeteria. The attire is black and white formal attire and the event is free for all seniors.
The week of May 8-12 is senior exam week. If seniors are exempt from their exams (by having an 80% or higher during both Q3 and Q4) their last day is Mon, May 8.
Advanced Placement (AP) exams start May 1. All senior AP students must attend their AP exams, regardless of exemption from class specific exams.
All school fines and fees must be paid by May 12, no exceptions. Once all fees are paid, seniors will receive a pink “paid slip” from Fleury, which allows them to receive their caps and gowns as well as graduation tickets. Fri, May 12 is the last day to receive a “paid slip”.
Cap and Gown pickup day is 2:45 – 4 p.m. May 15 in the LRHS gym. Seniors will receive 10 tickets for graduation per student. No resale is allowed. Seniors must receive a slip from Fleury in room 572 that verifies all fines, debts, and senior fees have been paid in full, and all textbooks have been returned.
Graduation is 7:30 p.m., May 17 at LECOM park. Seniors must report to the field by 6:30 p.m. Graduation will be livestreamed, and a link will be posted on the website. It is advised that students carpool since parking is limited.
Graduation attire requires that no heels are worn. If necessary, heels must be wedges. Caps may not be decorated, and general attire is sundresses, dress shorts, collared shirts, or sandals.
Senior Advisory Board Officer Kate Tuchman said, “I thought the meeting was very informative and made seniors very excited to have fun during their last week of high school.”
