Jules Telfort – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As senior year comes to an end with graduation in sight, LRHS seniors will be facing new obstacles, whether it be getting their first full time jobs or going off to college.
This change brings new stresses and responsibilities into their lives.
Senior Tamlyn Leatt said that she deals with stresses concerning “money, figuring out what [she] wants to do in the future, balancing a work and school life, etc.”
As a Christian, her coping strategy is by “simply just leaning on God.”

For Senior Sara Leonardis she said that “upcoming tests stress [her] and [she] deals with it by studying and eating gummy bears”.
Manatee School Psychologist Shawn Mendel recommends “mindful breathing exercises” or “visual imagery exercises” for anxious seniors nearing graduation.
The most important thing they should do, Mendel added, is to “keep doing the things that make [them] happy.”
