(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS softball Mustangs had two away games this past week suffered two tough losses.

The second game of the week was against Sarasota and the girls lost 5-4 in nine innings.

The Mustangs got an early lead, scoring one in the first inning after a leadoff triple. However, the Sarasota Sailors quickly responded, scoring three right after.

After a tough battle, the Mustangs finally tied it up in the fifth inning and the game remained scoreless until the ninth inning, when the Sailors took the lead and the win.

Junior Grace Shaw-Rockey said, “Both these losses were tough, but we learned from both. Our energy in the Sarasota game was extremely high and if we carry that into the rest of our games, we will be tough to beat.”

Tuesday, April 25, the team is celebrating Senior Night before their home game against McKeel Academy.
