


Joyce Gad– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS’s annual prom was this past weekend.
Hundreds of Mustangs attended the event and enjoyed the food and music-filled night. Prom was hosted at and catered by Sarasota’s Hyatt.
Junior Summer Aruajo said, “I am so glad I went to prom, it was truly an unforgettable night.”
Senior Josie Plakyda said, “My senior prom was incredible, I’m so glad I got to go and have fun with my friends, it really made my senior year!”
Senior Sara Cestero “It was so fun going with my friends for the last time…Prom is always kind of chaotic, but I never regret going…It really makes me think about how much i’m going to miss high school.”

Teachers and Faculty attended and chaperoned while being able to join in on the fun.
Prom is sponsored by the LRHS Junior Advisory Board (JAB). Science teacher Tana Phelps is the group’s adviser.
“It was a lovely evening!” she said. “I was so impressed with the JAB students and their hard work setting up and taking down prom decorations. I was also impressed with our student body as a whole. They were courteous and well-mannered all evening. I feel grateful to be part of such a wonderful community of students and staff at LRHS.”
LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist agreed the night was a success.
“Congratulations to Ms. Phelps and the Junior Advisory Board for a fun-filled and successful Prom last Friday night!” he said. “Our students made it a great success with their behavior and cooperation.”
