(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS parking permits for the 23-24 school year are going on sale.
On May 1, parking permits will go on sale for the upcoming school year. This applies to juniors and seniors only.
Parking permits will be sold completely online.
Directions can be found on the SDMC 2023-2024 LRHS Parking courses on Schoology. To access the course, insert the code: 8VBJ-4X3P-49656.
To access the course:
- Select “My Courses” in Schoology.
- Click “Join Courses” on the right.
- Type in the access code above.
- Fill out all the necessary paperwork.
Paperwork must be filled out and submitted immediately. All student debt must be cleared. Applicants must have a driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance. Spots are limited.
LRHS Discipline Dean David Sheppard noted, “This school wasn’t built to house this many students and the student parking wasn’t set up for this situation, which leads to not enough spots for all our juniors and seniors.”
Seniors have top priority during the first week of sales. Afterwards, permits are sold on a first-come basis to both juniors and seniors.
The first 2 weeks of sales on RevTrak are programmed to be sold at $75.00 per permit. If not sold out, the price will increase to $90.00.
Starting officially next year, back-in parking will be prohibited. This policy makes sure people are not parking unpermitted. Administration hopes to be able to monitor the parking lot more efficiently and effectively.
Sheppard said, “This issue became to the forefront at the end of the third quarter, which is why we needed to address the pulling in situation.”
Sheppard said more information is available online.
This story has been corrected to reflect the actual price of parking. “Mustang Ahead” apologizes for any inconvenience.
