Mustang wrestlers enjoyed a successful season

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS wrestling team ended their season at their banquet on Monday.

The Mustang wrestlers met for the last time of the year to celebrate their proud end to the season.

They honored their most recognized wrestlers.

Coach Pat Ancil said, “We are extremely proud of these fine young men who call themselves wrestlers.”

The following Mustangs earned the most awards this season –

  • Most Valuable Freshman – Gabriel Salles
  • Most Improved Freshman – Shawn Maestre
  • Most Valuable Sophomore – Trey Schwartz
  • Most Improved Sophomore – Andres Anastasi
  • Most Valuable Junior – Logan Borcsane
  • Most Improved Junior – Tucker Rodriguez
  • Most Valuable Senior – Cody King
  • Most Improved Senior – Evin Leavy
  • Team Most Valuable LRHS wrestler – Nate Smith

“Not only does it take a physical toll on their bodies while some are cutting weight and dealing with injuries, but they have to maintain their studies and become adapt to time management,” Ancil added.

The Mustangs went 16-7 and won all three home dual meets.
