Olivia Ryan – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS athletic trainer Sydney Suppa has organized a Mental Health Forum at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 in the school auditorium.

Mustangs must fill out the consent and registration form to attend.

During the forum, students will be split into four groups. Each group will have a different discussion topic.

The four topics discussed will be:

  • Body Image
  • Stress Management
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Sidelined

Suppa said, “I am hoping this event will allow high school student athletes to realize that they matter, and they are cared for first and foremost as a person.”

Guest speakers will include former Major League Baseball (MLB) Player Brian Tollberg.

Suppa said, “As an athletic trainer, you really build a strong relationship with the athletes you work with, and I just want our kids to know that they don’t need to suffer silently.”
