(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With the new wave of technology in schools, technicians are in high demand.
LRHS has George Donnelly as the school’s field technician.
While Donnelly has been in the district for nine years, he has specifically chosen to work at LRHS.
He has been working in Information Technology (IT) for 24 years.
Donnelly graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with a major in Marketing. Before being a field technician, he spent 21 years in sales.
He was in a Fortune 500 Corporation and ended his career as a unit sales manager.
When transitioning to the technical field, Donnelly attended a technical school to learn and study for an IT certification.
Donnelly arrives at school at around 6:30 a.m. every morning and stays until about 3:30 p.m.

Donnelly’s efforts help keep the school’s educational technology running smoothly.
Donnelly said, “On a daily basis, I only have to deal with minor issues. The major issues are handled by the department responsible for certain areas. I am here to do the best possible job I can to keep the technology on campus working flawlessly.”
Donnelly lives by the quote, “The hardest thing in life is to be yourself.”
