Cassidy McLellan – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS varsity softball team had three away games this week.
The first game was Tuesday against Calvary Christian in Clearwater and the Mustangs lost 4-2.
The Mustangs battled towards the end of the game with a solo homerun in the fifth inning and a triple that scored a run in the seventh inning.
Junior Ella Dodge started in the mound and Freshmen Olivia Carr came in relief in the fourth inning.
The second game was Wednesday against Bishop Verot in Fort Meyers and the girls fell short 3-2
Carr pitched the full game with three strikeouts, two walks, and only allowing six hits.

The third game of the week was Thursday against Mckeel Academy in Lakeland and the Mustangs finished the week off with a 10-2 win.
Senior Peyton Knight started the game and only allowed four hits and one walk.
Junior Leah James smoked a three-run homerun which started the Mustangs outburst offense.
James said, “I knew off the bat it was going out and it’s the best feeling seeing my teammates around home plate.”
The team’s next scheduled game is away on Tuesday, April 4 against Fort Meyers.
