Heyden Kudelko – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS welcomes new head boys basketball coach Jacob Baer.

Baer will teach math next year, as well as being the main strategist for Mustangs boys hoops. Baer has been coaching for the past five years at Hillsborough Durant High School and has been head coach there since 2021.

Durant had a solid playoff run this season along with a 14-12 record.

LRHS Athletic Director Kent Ringquist said Baer’s classroom experience is an important point. 

“We want to hire a new coach that’s going to be able to develop our basketball players, but also it’s important that they do well in the classroom,” said Ringquist.

Ringquist said Baer could start working with the team soon.

“He is going to be starting to help with the boys here hopefully within the next month or so,” said Ringquist.
