Angel Markoski – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As the 2022-2023 season progresses, track and field team continue to put hard work into each practice.

The varsity team is preparing to visit Manatee High School on Friday, March 31 and hopefully place in the top three at the annual Manatee Hurricane Invitational.

The Junior Varsity season ended on March 22 with girls placing fourth place and guys taking third place at Palmetto High School’s Palmetto Freshmen Sophomore Championship. 

Several individual Mustangs recorded first place finishes at the meet –

  • Derek Robinson – 800 m run
  • Jonathan Leatt – 1600 meter run
  • Viktor Minoki – boys Javelin
  • McKenzie Keller – girls Javelin

Some athletes in junior varsity got spots to run with the varsity group, but unfortunately, the season was over for most of them.

The coaches have been pleased with all the work that is being put into practice and they hope to finish off the season even stronger.
