(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys and girls varsity tennis season has officially begun.

Both teams already have a win under their belt.

The boys varsity team has a 1-4 record, ranked second in the 4A District 8 division.

The girls varsity team has a 2-3 record, also ranking second.

The girls are 1-1 at home and 1-2 away.

The boys are 1-1 away and 0-3 at home.

Both teams will play against Southeast High School at 3:30 p.m. today at home.

The teams will travel to Venice High School on Tuesday, Mar. 21. Both games are scheduled for 3 p.m.

Junior Tess Lippincott said, “I am hopeful for our next couple of games because they will be tough matches, my favorite part is getting to play, and I believe that our team is ready for a great season.”
