(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Economics teacher Vito Bavaro is hosting a semester long stock market game for his students.

The game is designed to give Mustangs insight into how stocks and investing works in the real world.

Bavaro said, “The stock market game is one of my favorite projects to do with students, they always get engaged and it gives real world experience for something that can be difficult to simulate.”

In the game, students are given $100,000 of virtual money to spend, save, and invest in the stock market game – which is based off of the current changes in real world stocks.

“I’ve learned so much about the stock market and really enjoy it. I feel like I’m truly learning how to properly invest in stocks for the future,” said senior Jennifer Schillinger.

Mustangs are given the opportunity to plan and invest their money and try to work to the top of the leaderboard – making the most money off of their investments.

The stock market game will continue for the next few weeks, as Mustangs are ranked against each other and other students in the county based on how well their investments have done.
