(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS varsity football team has a new head coach, Scott Paravicini.
Paravicini will take the spot of former Mustang head coach, Rashad West. West took a job at another school last month.
Paravincini graduated from LRHS in 2012 and went on to play college football at Warner University. Last year he was head football coach at Bradenton Christian School (BCS).
Paravicini played football at LRHS during his high school years.
He said, “It’s exciting to be able to coach at the place that helped shaped me as a young man. I now can do that for others.”
During his senior year of high school, Paravicini began his coaching journey by becoming a junior coach for the East Manatee Bulldogs.
After his time in college, he knew that he wanted to continue coaching.
Paravicini was an assistant coach at LRHS, but he feels that his time being head coach at BCS facilitated his growth.
Aside from coaching football, he also developed the weightlifting program at BCS.
With the LRHS football team achieving a 6-4 record last season, Paravicini hopes to make great strides in improving the program.
“I didn’t get to watch a ton of LRHS games because I was at BCS, but I will have to start watching film and see what areas we will need to make adjustments in,” said Paravincini.

With over 50 applicants, LRHS Athletic Director Kent Ringquist said the school chose the applicant who would be the best fit for LRHS football program.
“We like he was a local guy, an LRHS alumni, had a good connection with his players at BCS, able to build a coaching staff, good communicator,” said Ringquist.
