Many Mustangs need to know what type of courses to take that would fulfill their style of learning. LRHS offers Dual Enrollment (DE), Advanced Placement (AP), and Honors courses for students to take, all on a different difficulty level.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With LRHS registration around the corner, Mustangs are looking for challenging classes to take to look impressive for the future. LRHS offers many such honors courses.

Honors courses are more challenging than regular courses, as they are graded on an additional 0.5 points.

While honors courses are less rigorous than Advanced Placement (AP) or dual enrollment, they still positively help students later in the future.

English teacher Tracy Gregory said, “Taking honors courses are beneficial not only in the fact that it helps your weighted Grade Point Average (GPA), but the skills learned better prepare you for post-secondary school.”

Sophomore Heyden Kudelko is currently enrolled in four honors classes this year.

“Honors classes look good to colleges, and they are challenging courses to take,” Kudelko said.

Honors courses are faster paced and require more work than regular courses, but they show that students have good academic interests.
