(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS jazz band soared at the Florida Bandmasters Association District 11 Jazz Music Performance Assessment (MPA) at Lemon Bay High School.

Jazz Band 1 earned the highest rating of “Superior” for their performance. Jazz Band 2, the intermediate level of Jazz Band, earned the second highest rating of excellent.

LRHS band director John Schindler claims that students are working hard and striving to be amazing musicians and performers.

Schindler said, “The students are always excited when they see success from their efforts.

“COVID was difficult for band students because our normal classes and performance opportunities were taken away. Now that we are returning to a full calendar of regular performances, we are seeing participation and commitment start to rise back to pre-COVID levels.
