Dakota Wernet– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity baseball team started the season off with a win.
The team played their first game of the season on Wednesday against the East Lake High School Eagles.
The Mustangs scored three runs in the fourth inning, followed by the Eagles tying the game 3-3.
The Mustangs scored a run during the final inning, ending the game with a 4-3 score.
Varsity Pitching Coach AJ Jones said, “Every time East Lake punched us, we hit them back harder.”
The team will play in their first home game at 7 p.m. Friday against the Manatee High School Hurricanes.

The game will follow a blackout theme.
Senior catcher Tyler Howald said, “We are going to be loud and dominant.”
Junior Alex Vaillancourt said, “I’m pumped and ready to shove.”
