(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The 2023 LRHS Showcase open house gift bag drawing winner has been announced.
Sophie Hugues is an eighth grader at Dr. Mona Jain Middle School.
Her name was drawn for the LRHS gift bag after this month’s Showcase.
“I was very surprised to hear I was receiving the LRHS prize. There were so many people there, I did not think I would be the one to win it,” Hugues said.
Hugues is looking forward to starting her first year at LRHS and all the programs it may offer.
“I am most excited about the opportunity to be involved in community service programs with my friends. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to complete a college level course while in high school.
“I do plan on getting involved in both sports and extra-curricular activities. I have played both recreation and travel volleyball for the past few years. So, I am very excited to try out for the volleyball team at LRHS.
“I also plan on going to college, so participating in extra-curricular activities is very important to me. There were so many different programs to choose from. I don’t know right now which clubs and organization I would like to participate in,” Hugues continued.

Hugues was most excited about seeing the school in person.
“What I enjoyed the most was getting to see the school. I did not realize how big LRHS was.“
