(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs may have seen a faculty member zooming around campus these past two weeks.
Assistant Principal Thomas Bellantonio recently experienced an ankle injury and has been getting around school via scooter.
The incident happened when he was playing a game of “HORSE” with his brother-in-law, LRHS vocational teacher Joseph Cuervo.
Bellantonio said, “I was down by two, so I decided to get mobile. I proceeded to perform a euro-step reverse layup. However, the asphalt was uneven and as a result I rolled my ankle when I landed.
“It is a severe sprain which is why I am in a boot and using my go ride.”

Bellantonio believes that having the scooter has enhanced his ability to travel from one side of the campus to the other.
Bellantonio said, “The best part is the thrill of the ride, and the worst part is the tripping hazards on the concrete.”
