(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Varsity girls soccer team beat Plant High School (PHS) in the regional quarterfinal Tuesday.

The team (18-0-1) won 8-2, progressing into the regional semifinals.

Sophomore Olivia Hadad led the team with four goals and one assist.

Hadad said, “We must stay motivated so we can go as far as we can in playoffs because any of these games could be the last with some of my close friends. We played well last night because we wanted the win and it showed.”

Senior Captain Regan Kelly said, “I’m proud of our offense for finishing a lot of our chances and our defense for staying strong.”

Kelly continued, “Every practice and game I worry about what I can control, my effort, everyone else does the same. We work as a team and for each other.”
