Ranch Reflections are articles written by LRHS students and staff who want to share their experiences, thoughts, and concerns. This is a great opportunity for Mustangs to branch out beyond traditional news stories.  This edition features one student’s appreciation of taking it easy.

Conall Fisher – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- There is little to nothing that beats coming home from a stressful day and flopping down on the couch to relax. Whole days can be spent waiting for the time when you can go home and do nothing.

Doing nothing can be the most enjoyable thing to do. Even if just for a few minutes, you can unwind and let all your stress escape you.

LRHS junior Ethan Traeger said, “Doing nothing at home, in the workplace, or at school allows me to fully enjoy the small things in life you typically do not notice.”

Having a break from the bustle of life can give a greater appreciation of Earth’s simple wonders…whether the textures on the walls or the brush of a light breeze.

There are other advantages to doing nothing as well. It lets your mind relax and reset before you continue on to more work.

LRHS junior Justin Baltes said, “When I’m in school and I have nothing to think about its very refreshing, it feels like a clean slate.”

Sometimes in the middle of the day, a brief reprise can be enjoyed. In a single second, all the worries in the world can be replaced by a single thought, the thought of nothing.
