Sam Clapcich – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS welcomed a new fulltime substitute teacher, Lewis Sofman.
Sofman grew up in Rockport, Massachusetts, an oceanfront village north of Boston.
Sofman worked in the production/service sphere for over 20 years.
After retiring from his business, he became involved in his town’s high school, creating a business education program, and establishing a Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) chapter. He also taught photography and art.
Furthermore, he has taught marketing, finance, and Advanced Placement (AP) economics in the private school sector.
He was known in Rockport as a photographer and author. Sofman wrote his own book about the town and published photographs of the local scene.
Additionally, he has lectured on entrepreneurship, customer service, textiles, and US military history.

Sofman said, “I’ve taught high school and collegiate classes and ran my own successful business for 20 years.”
Sofman hopes to share this knowledge with all Mustangs and staff.
“My favorite quote is ‘Knowledge is good,’” he continued.
