Nadia Gandhi – Mustangs Ahead
(Lakewood Ranch, FL) – This week, the LRHS HOPE Ambassadors are hosting the Great Kindness Challenge to encourage Mustangs to be kind to one another and to show appreciation for teachers and staff around campus.
The Great Kindness Challenge is an annual event at LRHS and typically occurs during the last full week in January.
HOPE Ambassadors created kindness-encouraging posters for each hallway. These posters were made to spread kindness and radiate positivity throughout the campus.
Assistant Principal and HOPE Ambassadors adviser Thomas Bellantonio explained that kindness is an easy way to turn someone’s bad day into a good one.
Bellantonio said, “The posters are reminders that even though we may be having a bad day, things can turn around in an instant simply by being kind to others.
“It doesn’t take much to affect change and be a difference maker in someone else’s life. Kind words and action carry heavy weight.”

Senior Angel Markoski enjoyed seeing the posters around campus and believed they were an effective way to spread kindness around campus.
“The posters made me realize that happiness can spread wherever you are at,” Markoski said.
“It doesn’t hurt to be nice to others, especially if you don’t know what they may be going through,” Markoski continued.
