LRHS honored these senior wrestlers this week

Sophia Bayindiryan – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS wrestling team had a successful final home meet against Sarasota Military Academy Tuesday.

The varsity won 58-20 while the junior varsity (JV) Mustangs won 64-4.

Each of the seniors were rewarded with flowers, a team photo, and a self-portrait poster board signed by the rest of the team, family, and friends.

Coach Pat Ancil sent a thank you to all the supporters and said, “Thanks to all the parents, families and friends who packed the stands last night.  Also, thanks for the food and drinks!”

To honor of the seniors on the team, they held a farewell celebration for the following Mustangs –

Senior Cody King said, “It’s been a great opportunity being team captain and having so much support from my family and teammates. Our last year was a good match up and a solid way to go out with a win.”

Senior Evin Leavy said, “Wrestling helped shape me as a person and made me a lot stronger and confident with myself. I will be sad to leave it after this season, but it’s been a successful 4 years of improvement and a great way to end.”

The Mustangs’ next meet is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Braden River High School.
