Stephanie Green – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS is in a race against other Manatee District high schools to get the highest percentage of students to sign up for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA.)

Every Mustang who completes the application will be eligible for a gift card drawing in April.

LRHS College and Career Adviser Dr. Carmen Purpus said Mustangs need to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible for their own benefit.

Even if Mustangs do qualify for federal aid, they are encouraged to apply.

Some colleges and scholarships require FAFSA to be completed before they will send the offer/financial letter. This competition will end on Mar. 31.

There will be an online FASFA workshop this Thursday from 6-8 p.m., followed by an in-person workshop on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Manatee High School.

Students who attend will get a $20 Publix gift card.

Mustangs should create a Federal Student Aid ID before attending either of the workshops.

It usually takes 1-3 days for FSA IDs to get approved. Students can get help here.
