(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS sophomore Addison Shea, two-time cross country state finalist, ran her first half-marathon on Sunday, Jan. 15 in St. Petersburg.

She finished at 1:38:15, first In her age group and seventh for overall female finishers.

Shea began competitively running in middle school and plans to continue it all throughout high school.

She said, “What is really neat about it is that even after you graduate, you can continue the sport. It can be a life-long commitment.

“Hopefully, track will help me improve my speed, and I can integrate that into my summer training for XC. Really, I want to continue cutting time in XC and in my track events.”
