Lucas Viera – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity basketball team lost to Palmetto High School (PHS) Tuesday 72-54.
The team is now 1-12 on the season. This was the team’s first game since the holiday break.
The Mustangs were able to keep up early in the game but lost their momentum in the second half.
Despite their struggle this season, the team has high hopes for their remaining games.
Junior Leo Henderson said, “It’s been difficult to adjust this year due to lots of seniors leaving last year, but I’m hopeful we can make some changes and improve our record for the remainder of the season.”
Varsity head coach Chris Kawcak resigned midway through the season.
The team is now coached by George Holub.
Holub coached in New York prior to coming to Lakewood Ranch.
