(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The last day for Mustangs to sign up to take the February American College Testing (ACT) exam is on Friday, Jan. 6.

The upcoming ACT test is scheduled for Feb. 11.

The ACT consists of an English, math, science, reading, and optional writing section.

The test is two hours and 55 minutes.

Mustangs can prepare for the ACT by purchasing a study booklet online, reviewing test materials from their classes, and eating a good breakfast the morning before.

The ACT website states, “Every student should be familiar with the questions because every question is based on the high school curriculum.”

Most college applications require either a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or an ACT score. The ACT is scored on a scale of 1-36 and is a composite score of each section of the test.

Senior Evelyn Sanchez said, “I enjoyed taking the ACT over the SAT because of the science questions. I tend to enjoy science over other subjects, and I feel like this helped me get a better score.”

Mustangs should also bring all necessary paperwork, identification, pencils and a calculator for testing.
