(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS esports president Ethan Kranert, junior, has qualified for the league’s playoff tournament this year.

To qualify for the esports playoffs, Kranert played seven games from Oct. 10-12.

He earned 12 points to qualify for the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF) Disney National Championship.

Kranert starts his playoff journey at 5:45 tonight. The match will be livestreamed on Twitch.

This playoff tournament is nationwide. If Kranert is successful he will qualify for the national finals at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

Kranert qualified for the same playoff tournament earlier this year on Jun. 16

Kranert said, “It means a lot to me to get to this point. I practiced a lot to get here. I am really excited to see where I can go with this in the future.”

Kranert plays Super Smash Brothers Ultimate and has played the game for two years.

“For Mustangs who are interested in video games and playing them, this is a great club for them to join and be a part of,” said Kranert.

After high school, Kranert plans to go to an esports supported college to continue playing.
