(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Clubs across the LRHS campus partnered with the Magic of Mittens program to help families in need for the holidays.
This year they provided 26 children and three single mothers with Christmas gifts.
Magic of Mittens partners with local schools in Manatee County to collect donations such as clothes and toys.
The following clubs partnered with the program to bring in donations:
- Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
- Student Government Association (SGA)
- Girls in White Coats
- Hope Ambassadors
- LRHS Athletic Trainers
LRHS FCCLA adviser Suzanne Nolin said, “This year for mittens was a huge success. Mittens as a program helped provide gifts for 730 kids this year. This is more than last year. I think it would be great if more clubs joined in next year to help donate.“

Nolin continued, “I love this program and have been part of it for the last 12 years. Doing this program gives me so much joy knowing that I have helped a struggling family have a wonderful Christmas.”
Sophomore Lillian Chapman said, “The LRHS Athletic Trainers and I donated gifts to help families for Christmas. We were assigned children to buy gifts for. I bought an art set and clothes for a young girl.”
