(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Head LRHS football coach Rashad West shared his thoughts on the end of the 2022-2023 LRHS football season.

The Mustangs finished the season with a record of 6-4 and West believes the team demonstrated extensive growth over the past year.

West said, “Growth is a really good way to describe the season. We had a lot of guys step up and they played a major role in our success.”

During their season, the team focused on discipline, effort, and selflessness.

Despite the improvement this season, the team still had their setbacks.

“The biggest struggle this season was finishing games. That’s something we need to do a better job of if our program wants to take the next step,” West continued.

As the program continues to train, players will build their skills for the upcoming season.

West and his players shared many memories on the field. His favorite memory of the season was spending the last week with the seniors.

West said, “Having the chance to have senior dinner with them as they reminisce on their time here is a special thing.”
