(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The 2022-23 LRHS boys basketball season has begun.

LRHS basketball coach Chris Kawcak has been coaching for two years.

Kawcak said, “I love basketball, I played in high school, and I really enjoy teaching the game to students.

“The relationships between coaches and students and seeing the team play together and create good memories together is my favorite part about coaching,” continued Kawcak.

Varsity’s record as of now is 1-4, but they are not losing hope. They are keeping their heads held high and are continuing to practice every day.

“We are young and will a lot of growing pains, but we are making progress each day and that is the key to success” added Kawcak.

The team practices every day after school to prepare for the season.

Kawcak said Mustangs interested in basketball should commit to learning the skills and should study the game. A large part of basketball is the mental aspect.

The Mustangs’ next game is scheduled for Thursday at Cardinal Mooney.
