(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Manatee Memorial Hospital will continue to sponsor the 46th Annual Golden Herald Awards and that can mean opportunity for LRHS Mustangs.

The award recognizes high school seniors who have contributed to their schools and community.

There will be one Golden Herald Award winner and one honorable mention recipient from 16 categories.

LRHS English teacher Jennifer Grant and school Golden Herald facilitator said, “Students may apply for the following categories: art, athletics, business, citizenship, computer and technology, drama, English and literature, foreign language, general scholarship, journalism, mathematics, music, science, social science, speech, and vocational.

“Our goal is to have at least two applicants for each of these categories,” she continued.

According to the Bradenton Herald, qualifications include the equivalent of a B average and community service all throughout high school.

Bradenton Herald said, “The essential qualification for a Golden Herald nominee is service.”

The deadline for the application is February 24, 2023, by 4:30 p.m.

Applications are due to the Manatee Memorial Hospital Executive Office at 206 2nd Street East, Bradenton, FL.

Applicants will go through an interview to be qualified for the awards.

Student interviews will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 25, 2023, at Manatee Memorial Hospital lobby. They are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their interview time.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at State College of Florida (SCF) Neal Performing Arts Center.
