(LAKEWOOD RANCH. FL) – The new Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) Testing is coming to LRHS.
FAST testing is a new progress-monitoring assessment issued by the state. Reading and writing sections are separate for the assessment.
Testing will take place from Dec. 5 – 9. Next week’s bell schedule has been adjusted to a block schedule to accommodate for testing.
FAST testing is for freshman and sophomores.
“Students can prepare for the test by doing the best they can in their classes by being present, engaging, and completing all assignments,” Simmons continued.

Testing is scheduled for the LRHS media center, which is currently undergoing renovations. Simmons said officials are happy to work around the construction.
“It’s a small price to pay for a new and updated Media Center,” testing coordinator Jeffery Simmons said.
