(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS chorus and orchestra are holding holiday concerts this week.

Orchestra is performing at 7 p.m. tonight in the auditorium.

Chorus is performing at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the auditorium.

Both concerts are free.

This orchestra concert will feature holiday favorites as well as a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) transcription. TSO is a rock themed orchestra band that is popularly known for playing Christmas music.

Two groups, the Campus Orchestra and a Symphonic Orchestra, will perform.

The Campus Orchestra is a freshman group while the Symphonic Orchestra includes sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

LRHS orchestra teacher Thomas Durante said, “This is the first concert of the year, as we participated in two concerts last year as well as a competition where we scored an excellent, the second highest score.

“We’ve been preparing these pieces since late October and these students and myself have been putting in a lot of work. I am expecting a good show,” Durante continued.

“We have an amazing week of music here at LRHS and I hope you get to enjoy attending and supporting our students,” continued Lester.

Chorus President senior Alli Thomas said, “I am so excited for the concert! We have been working so hard for ourselves, not for other people, and can’t wait to show what we have in store for this year.”
