The LRHS A-Team is enjoying a successful season

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Academic team had they’re third A-Team district meet at Bayshore High School.

The LRHS black team is now ranked fourth in the district and the green team is sixth.

Black team members are Madelyn Hotaling, Samantha Bellaire, Angel Potter, and Logan Catlett

Green team members are Hoang Pham, Tristan Ambler, Alyssa Soderberg, Carter Dublin, Jason Albano, Norman Smith.

Seniors Hotaling and Pham both did well individually.

LRHS media specialist and A-team coach Audrey Dombroski said, “I feel that overall, the team is extremely intelligent and is becoming less fearful of taking a chance on an answer, and it takes practice in building the confidence to answer the questions in which they know the answers.”

Dombroski said only five students from the district’s seven high schools make the team that represents Manatee County at state competition. 

“I am hoping that we have a state team finalist,” she said.  

The teams next meet is scheduled for Dec. 6.
