(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Marching Mustangs won fourth place at the Florida Marching Band Championships (FMBC) State Championship over Thanksgiving break.
Their show ‘Dark Waters’ received a score of 88.8 and was performed in the pouring rain.
Along with their high score, they also placed first in ensemble music captions, second overall in music, second in percussion and third in general effects.
LRHS band director John Schindler said, “I feel good about the competition, you never know how you’re going to do against some of those groups from as far down as Miami.”
Last year the band placed seventh in the same competition.
