(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Marching Mustangs competed at the Seminole Florida Marching Band Championship (FMBC) Regional this past weekend.
The Mustangs’ 2022 show is titled “Dark Waters.”
LRHS band director John Schindler said, “The band performed well this past weekend at the Seminole FMBC regional, earning first place in class 3A.”
Sophomore Lauren Cunningham said, “I think we did well. Our score went up since our last performance, so we’ve definitely improved.”
The Mustangs also earned awards for best brass, woodwinds, visual, general effect, percussion, and color guard.
Junior Emorie Lawrence is one of the flute section leaders. She said, “My favorite part of the show is either when we start playing the ‘Aquaman’ theme because it is one of the best sounding parts of the show or the part in movement three where all the woodwinds get to run up on the stage and play a woodwind feature.”
