Summer Araujo – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH FL)- The LRHS American Red Cross Club is participating in the “Vaccinate a Village” program this week.
The American Red Cross Club is a student-led extension of the American Red Cross (ARC).
This club is recognized by the national organization and provides community service opportunities for Mustangs.
“Vaccinate a Village” is an initiative that the ARC uses to raise funds for purchasing and distributing basic vaccinations.
Every dollar donated is enough to vaccinate a child for 1 year.

LRHS Red Cross club adviser and physical education teacher Christopher Blank said, “As a newcomer to the ARC we have to complete three community service projects that are provided by the ARC before we can create and run our own.”
The club ran a campaign last month to celebrate individuals that participated in “Tweets of Thanks.”
The ARC will also make cards for veterans that will be distributed at the VA Clinic and local VFW Clubs around the area.
