The annual canned food drive is an LRHS tradition

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Leaders will hold a canned food drive beginning Thursday and lasting through Nov. 16.

The canned food drive has been an LRHS tradition for 20 years.

The goal is for every Mustang to bring in two cans each.

The first period class that brings in the most cans will win chick-Fil-A sandwiches.

Math teacher and Lakewood Leaders adviser Meghan Sugalski said, “One of the biggest topics in the news is inflation and how food costs are on the rise.  For some that means tightening our belts, but for others, they cannot tighten their belt anymore.”

She continued, “If a person can add some extra items to their cart and help someone in need, why wouldn’t they?”
