(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – After competing at the region three regional championships, the LRHS boys and girls golf teams are both bound for states.   

The boys won the region three championship on Monday at Crescent Oaks G.C. in Tarpon Springs.

The team shot an even par total and won by 10 shots against Naples Gulfcoast High School.

They won their following game against East Lake High School by 12.

Sophomore Parker Severs led with a 66 (6 under par).

Severs was the Region Runner-Up medalist when he tied for first but lost the match-back.

Senior captain Preston Severs shot an even par 72, freshman Josh Orgen with a 78, and senior Henry Burbee with a 77.

The girls team also won their championships on Tuesday at Mission Inn.

Their third-place score of 331 at the regional championships qualified them for states.

Top scorers included senior Lauren Hosier (78) and freshman Emily Storm (80).

Hosier individually came in fifth place and Storm placed sixth.

Both the boys and girls teams qualified for states and will be participating in the FHSAA state championship next week on Nov. 8 – 9 at Mission Inn, Orlando.
