The LRHS girls golf team are on an unbeaten run

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS girls golf team finished their final regular season match with a win as they head into the post-season.

On Saturday, October 15, the Mustangs competed in the Riverview invitational at Heritage Oaks Country Club.

The team won with a 322 and had three players make the top four.

Individually, seniors Lauren Hosier came in second with a 73, Jessica Kobetitsch came in third with a 75, and Emily Storm came in fourth place with an 80.

It was their last regular season tournament, and their last regular season home course match was Tuesday, October 17.

They played St. Stephens at Royal Lakes G.C. and won again.

 As well as it their last home course regular match, it was also senior night for the teams’ three seniors this year. The graduating 2023 seniors this year are Josie Plakyda, Kobetitsch, and Hosier.

Junior Alyssa Ghanayem said, “After being on the LRHS varsity golf team for two years now, I am sad to have to let our seniors go. I have built one of the closest friendships I’ve ever had since being on this team, and next year won’t be the same without.”

The girls finished the regular season 11-0 and are looking forward to more wins as the post season starts, with districts next Tuesday and regionals following that.
