(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Mustang swimmers are preparing for their district meet on Friday, October 21  at Selby Aquatic Center.

Head coach Steven Lubrino increased practice intensity to gain the best possible results for the meet.

“I think we are getting well prepared for districts because the kids have been working extremely hard in the water,” Lubrino said.

Mustang swimmers have also been training for their specific events.

Sophomore Reese Messal is excited for districts and the rest of the championship series.

“Last year, districts was a fun and competitive experience, and I can’t wait to do it again this year,” Messal said.

Senior captain Nicole Majewski encourages the team to enjoy the district meet, as it may be the last meet for some Mustangs.

“I am confident that many people will advance to regionals and hopefully states, but even though many won’t, I am proud of the team and the effort they put into the season,” Majewski said.
