(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity softball team has a new coach after TJ Goltz stepped won after six years.
The LRHS varsity softball team has been highly successful recently, winning two straight state championships.
New head coach Todd Lee has been the junior varsity (JV) coach for the past two years and has been promoted to head varsity coach.
He attended high school in Montana and played baseball and basketball.
“I am super excited about the upcoming softball season,” Lee said. “There is a great group of girls coming back and the program already has so much positive growth and momentum over the last few years, and I hope I can help keep that tradition going.”

At the first player’s meaning, Lee discussed some expectations and goals. He explained that there are successful systems and processes that have been put in place and those will continue which will ultimately lead to the team’s main goal of winning “the last game.”
Lee said, “I really don’t have any pressure on myself about replacing Coach TJ, plus I am super lucky in that I can reach out to him at any time for advice. I want to make sure the team has the best experience they can and that they prepare and perform at the highest level possible.
“I have some ideas on how to keep the team motivated this year but the returning seniors and juniors understand that they have the opportunity to do something special this year and really solidify their legacy at Lakewood ranch,” added Lee.
